Óri's parentage is unknown, although he was a remote kinsman of Thórin and a member of the House of Dúrin.
The Quest of EreborEdit
In TA 2941, Óri was one of the Dwarves that joined Thorin and Company and travelled to Bag End with Dóri, Nóri, Óin, Glóin, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, and Gandalf to meet with their host: Bilbo Baggins. Upon arriving at the house around nightfall, he and all the dwarves pillaged Bilbo's pantry and during the feasting, he made the loudest burp which annoyed Bilbo. After finishing his meal, he walked over to Bilbo and asked on what he should do with his plate until Fíli takes the plate from him and throws it to his brother Kíli.
- In the book, Óri was born in TA 2865 and was 76 years old when he ventured with the company of Thórin Oakenshield to Erebor. In the film trilogy, the character is portrayed to be much younger and is probably 26 years old in the company. Fíli and Kíli are actually described as the youngest by around fifty years.
