Elros was an Elf who was a guard to the Elvenking Thranduil of Mirkwood in TA 2941.
Biography
In TA 2941, Elros was among the guards who assisted in capture of Thorin and Company when they stepped foot in Mirkwood and helped lock Thorin Oakenshield up in his cell and took the keys with him.
Later, when Thranduil had given order to lock all the gates and let no one out of the kingdom, Elros informed the king's son Legolas Greenleaf that Tauriel had left armed with her bow and blade and showed him where she went.
Behind the scenes
- Elros was portrayed by Robin Kerr in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
- On the website MovieDude.uk, Elros was confused to be Lethuin.
- Elros shared the same name as Elrond's late twin brother Elros from The Silmarillion. The two brothers had both human and Elvish ancestry on both their mother's and father's side, and as such were perfectly half-Elf and half-Man. While Elrond chose to be an immortal Elf, Elros chose to become a mortal man and thus became the progenitor of the Numenorian race, and an ancestor of Aragorn.
