Biography[]

Bilbo and Master Worrywort

Worrywort showing Bilbo his tubers.

In TA 2941, Worrywort went to the Green Dragon Inn market to sell tubers. When his neighbor Bilbo went to the market after his encounter with Gandalf but still in the look out for him, Worrywort greeted him to show how firm his tubers were. Bilbo then asked him if he saw a Wizard nearby, and Worrywort answered that he hadn't, which his neighbor later ran away when he thought he saw Gandalf walking in the market (which his hat was actually just a piece of clothing).

The next day, when Bilbo started to leave the Shire to catch up to Thorin and Company, Worrywort asked him where he was going.

Behind the scenes[]

  • Master Worrywort was portrayed by Timothy Bartlett in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Most of his scenes were cut from the theatrical version and in the subtitles call him as "Neighbor" during the scene where he asked Bilbo where he was going. In the extended edition however, his name is revealed to be "Worrywort" when he asks Bilbo where he was going.
  • In LEGO The Hobbit: The Video Game, Worrywort was omitted from the consoles and windows versions, but in the portable versions, he appeared in game called as Hobbit Farmer. Worrywort had only line from the theatrical version of the film.
